Extremely heavy rain lashes four Telangana dists on Wednesday; very heavy rain continues in Kamareddy and Nizamabad

Four districts of Telangana were lashed by extremely heavy rainfall on Wednesday (August 27, 2025). The highest of 49.48 cm were recorded in Rajampet of Kamareddy. Rain was recorded in all but two of the 621 mandals in the State. The four districts which received extremely heavy rainfall are Kamareddy, Nirmal, Medak and Siddipet.

Altogether, 16 mandals in Telangana received extremely heavy rainfall over 20.44 cm, 40 mandals received very heavy rainfall (11.55 - 20.44 cm) and 85 mandals received heavy rainfall (6.45 - 11.55 cm), as per data from Telangana Development Planning Society  recorded in 24 hours, from 8.30 a.m. Wednesday to 8.30 a.m. Thursday morning.

In Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, the highest of 3.3 cm was recorded in Patancheru of Sangareddy.
