At the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Donald Trump boasted that under his watch the US has gone from the “nightmare of stagflation” to “virtually no inflation and extraordinarily high economic growth,” insisting that when “America booms, the entire world booms.” He ripped into decades of Western orthodoxy on big government, mass migration and reliance on foreign imports, claiming that every major “expert” predicted his agenda would crash the global economy and spark runaway inflation — and that they were all proved wrong.
