Erode (East) bypoll 2025 | Preparations on at polling stations
With three days left until polling for the Erode (East) Assembly constituency, preparatory work at 237 polling stations, including setting up ramps and installing closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, began on Saturday.
The byelection for the constituency is scheduled for February 5, with a total of 2,27,546 voters eligible to cast their votes. Nine polling stations have been identified as vulnerable, and officials have stated that additional security will be deployed.
All polling stations have been set up in schools, and work has begun to clean the premises, create ramp facilities, install CCTVs, ensure adequate lighting, and put other basic amenities in place. Officials have said the process at all polling stations will be completed within a day, after which the rooms will be kept closed until February 4. Additionally, the packing of polling materials for the byelection has begun at the Corporation’s Central Office.
