A terrorist was killed in an operation by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Sunday. The encounter started between security forces and terrorists in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar.
The encounter broke out around 10:30 am in the Passerkut area of the Chatroo belt after security agencies received specific inputs about the presence of two Pakistani terrorists linked to the banned outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad, officials said.
Following the intelligence alert, joint teams of the Army, police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area. As the forces closed in on a mud house located at the foothills, the terrorists, who were hiding inside, opened fire, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire.
