Delhi High Court Quashes Lokpal Nod To CBI Chargesheet Against Mahua Moitra In Cash-for-Query Case

The Delhi High Court on Friday set aside an order issued by the Lokpal permitting the Central Bureau of Investigation to file a chargesheet against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra in connection with an alleged cash-for-query row, Bar and Bench reported.

A division bench of Justices Anil Kshetarpal and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar ruled that the anti-corruption ombudsman had made an error in understanding provisions of the Lokpal Act, Live Law reported.

It directed the Lokpal to reconsider the sanction for prosecution in accordance with the law within a month.
