Delhi Airport To Open Runway Closed For Upgrade After Flight Delays Hit Passenger Movement

A day after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his frustration over multiple flight delays on social media, the Delhi international airport on Monday said it has decided to put one of its runways, closed for an upgrade, back into operation.

The Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) took the decision after hundreds of flight delays severely impacted passenger movement and thousands were stranded in the summer rush.

Social media has been flooded with visuals and posts, where passengers arriving or departing were narrating their ordeal. Many reported hours of delays and absence of communication from airlines as well as from the airport operator.
