Cops Probe Shooting of Three Palestinian Students as Hate Crime Case

Three Palestinian students were left wounded after they were shot by a gunman in what is being suspected as a case of hate crime in Vermont, US. According to a report in Reuters, police said a man with a pistol shot the three victims near the University of Vermont, Burlington when they were on their way to a family dinner. Two of the students are US citizens while the third one is a legal US resident. Police said all of them are 20 years old, as per Reuters.

The head of the Palestinian mission to the UK, Husam Zomlot shared the photo of the victims with their names calling the incident a case of hate crime. He also sought protection for Palestinians everywhere.

"Three young Palestinian men, Hisham Awartani, Tahseen Ali and Kenan Abdulhamid, students at Brown and other US universities, were shot last night on their way to a family dinner in Burlington, USA. Their crime? Wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh," Zomlot said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
