Cleanliness drives at Tiruchi Railway Division, Ordnance Factory
Sri Sathya Sai District Collector A. Shyam Prasad urged the public on Thursday to dedicate at least one hour every day in making Hindupur a cleaner and greener town. He made the appeal during a cleanliness drive ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ at the Housing Board Municipal Park as part of a country-wide initiative.
The special drive saw the participation of municipal officials, volunteers, members of walkers’ associations, and the general public, who actively took part in cleaning the park and surrounding areas, clearing garbage and weeds. He highlighted the importance of public participation, saying that the maintenance of clean surroundings and greenery is the responsibility of every citizen in a civilized society.
On this occasion, the Collector visited several households in Hindupur, interacting with the public, underlining the importance of awareness about segregating wet and dry waste. Mr. Shyam Prasad further encouraged the residents to give a big patronage to the planting of saplings for a healthier environment.
