Class 10 Boy Dies After Clash Between Students In Kerala

Five Class X students from Thamarassery in Kozhikode were charged with murder after they were found to have been involved in a recent clash between two groups near a local tuition centre, which led to the death of another student early on Saturday.

Mohammed Shahabas, 15, Class X student of a government-aided school in Elettil, had suffered severe head injuries during the clash on February 27. The clash reportedly broke out after an argument over the stopping of music during a farewell party at the tuition centre on February 23.

One of the groups belonged to the Elettil school while the other was from a government school at Thamarassery. Though Shahabas did not study at the tuition centre, he was reportedly persuaded by others to join the fight. Around 15 students were reportedly present at the spot during the clash. The students dispersed only after a few teachers arrived and warned them of disciplinary action.
