Christmas celebrated with joy in Belagavi

Christmas was celebrated with joy and religious fervour in Belagavi district on Wednesday.

Celebrations began with prayers for peace across churches and Christian homes. Religious organisations displayed this year’s theme, Pilgrims of Hope, in banners. Priests spoke about the messages received from the Vatican.

Minister Satish Jarkiholi attended a mass at the Methodist Church here. Celebrations were organised in Hukkeri, Chikkodi, Nippani and other towns and villages.

Believers from across the region took part in the special midnight mass services that were held from Tuesday night culminating in the Christmas day celebrations.
