China Reduces Troop Deployment Along LAC, Accepts Indian Army’s Demand

A major development has emerged regarding the India-China border situation along the LAC following the successful BRICS summit in India. According to the report, China has reduced its troop deployment along the Line of Actual Control and appears to have accepted India’s demand for de-escalation.

The development is being viewed as a significant diplomatic achievement for India, particularly after Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India and his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which several bilateral and regional issues were discussed.

According to the Defence Ministry’s annual report cited in the report, China has reduced its deployment along the India-facing LAC, with around 10 Chinese brigades now reportedly deployed, while other troops have been moved farther back. The development comes in the context of tensions that escalated after the Galwan Valley clash.
