Centre approves Rs 5 lakh health insurance for senior citizens aged 70 and above

New Delhi: In a significant good news for the senior citizens of India, the Union Cabinet has approved a new move to provide health coverage of Rs 5 lakh for all senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of their income, under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).

The cabinet decision is set to benefit 4.5 crore families across the country, Union minister of information and broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Wednesday.
