Can no longer work as much: Nitin Gadkari says new generation should take over

Mumbai: Hours after Union Road Transport & Highways Minister and BJP leader Nitin Gadkari's statement that he can no longer work as much as he used to and that it was time to hand over responsibilities to the new generation sparked off a political issue, his office clarified that it was in respect of the work of the Laxmanrao Mankar Trust.

In fact, the trust headed by Gadkari runs Ekal Vidyalayas in tribal areas.

“I can no longer work so much…I urge people to give young people more work. There are new people now and the old ones are guiding them,” Gadkari, a veteran BJP leader with roots in RSS, reportedly said in Nagpur on Sunday.

As soon as the comments spread like wildfire on Tuesday, Gadkari’s office came out with a clarification.
