India youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal who concluded his 2023-24 season with a sensational Test series against England found it difficult to face Jasprit Bumrah in the nets of MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Batting during India's training session, Jaiswal got his stumps uprooted by Bumrah, reported news agency PTI. The report further added that Jaiswal wa beaten on the outside edge with pace and seam, multiple times by the star India pacer.

Yashasvi Jaiswal would be eager to overcome the so-called "second season blues," where youngsters find it difficult to perform after a breathtaking rookie season. Jaiswal, who has been hailed as a future megastar after amassing over 1,000 runs in his first nine Tests, including a stellar 700-plus in a single series against England, will now be under intense scrutiny.

Critics argue that he struggled against pace and bounce in two Tests against South Africa on the challenging tracks of Centurion and Newlands (Cape Town). While his performance against England's slow bowlers was impressive, Jaiswal’s real test will be facing five Tests in Australia later this year, where he will confront Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood. First, however, he must navigate the pace and bounce of Bangladeshi bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana.
