Bridge Collapses in Siwan, Second Such Incident In Bihar This Week
Bihar Bridge Collapse: In a second incident of its kind in Bihar in less than a week, a bridge connecting several villages in Siwan district on early Saturday morning. According to officials, the small bridge which was erected over a canal and connected the villages of Daraunda and Maharajganj blocks, caved in at around 5 AM in the morning.
Luckily, no injuries were reported in the incident as nobody was using the bridge when it collapsed, a senior official said.
“Nobody was injured in the incident. It was a very old structure and apparently, pillars caved in when water was released through the canal. We are trying to ensure that until it is restored, residents of affected villages face as little inconvenience as possible,” District Magistrate Mukul Kumar Gupta told news agency PTI.
