Fresh violence has erupted across West Bengal within 24 hours of the election results, leaving at least three people dead, including two members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and one from the All India Trinamool Congress. The incidents have triggered widespread concern and prompted swift intervention from the Election Commission.
According to reports, one BJP worker identified as Madhav Mandal was killed during a victory procession in the New Town Kolkata region after clashes broke out between supporters of rival political parties. He was reportedly assaulted during the confrontation and later declared dead at a hospital.
In a separate incident in Birbhum district, a TMC worker named Abir Sheikh was allegedly killed in an attack involving sharp weapons. The Trinamool Congress has accused BJP supporters of being behind the killing, further escalating political tensions in the region.
