BJP wades into power struggle in Congress for Kerala’s Chief Minister post

On the heels of the crisis in the Congress in Kerala over the selection of the Chief Minister has come an equally intense battle for the post of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (May 11, 2026) sought to further muddy the alleged “cloak-and-dagger power struggle” in the Congress for the post of Kerala Chief Minister.

After taking oath as West Bengal Chief Minister on May 9, 2026, Suvendu Adhikari chaired his first Cabinet meeting on Monday (May 11, 2026) and said his government has granted transfer of land to the BSF for erecting a fence along the Bangladesh border and approved immediate implementation of the Census exercise in the State.
