Bhool Chuk Maaf box office collection day 1: Rajkummar Rao’s another dull opener, collects ₹6 crore

Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao and actress Wamiq Gabbi, will hit theaters on May 23 after much controversy.

Initially scheduled for release on May 9, the Karan Sharma-directed film's release was postponed to May 16, 2025, and later shifted directly to Prime Video due to heightened security tensions between India and Pakistan. In an Instagram post, Maddock Films announced, "In light of the recent events and heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16 only on Prime Video, worldwide."

However, this sudden change garnered negative feedback, especially from PVR Inox, which sent a legal notice to Maddock Films and Pen Marudhar. A source from PVR Inox stated, "It is highly unfortunate that a project promoted on this scale was pulled without formal communication. As India's leading theatrical platform, we invest heavily in campaigns in good faith and expect content partners to uphold basic standards of professionalism."
