Mahant Narendra Giri's most trusted disciple, Balbeer Giri will succeed him as the peethadhishvar of Baghambari Math. The 35-year-old seer's appointment as the next head was finalised by the office bearers of Shri Panchayati Akhara Niranjani. The position fell vacant after Mahant Narendra Giri, who died by suicide on September 20.

According to reports, Balbeer Giri was the most trusted disciple of Narendra Giri for the last 15 years. His coronation ceremony will be held on October 5 in Prayagraj. Balbeer Giri had left his family in Uttarakhand in 2005 to take sanyas. He was given 'diksha' by Narendra Giri himself in Haridwar.

Balbeer Giri has been looking after the Bilkeshwar Mahadev temple in Haridwar since last several years.
