Atiq Ahmed's son killed in car crash in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi

On 6 August 2026, Aban Ahmed, the youngest son of slain politician Atiq Ahmed, was killed in a car accident on the Kanpur-Jhansi National Highway in Uttar Pradesh. The SUV in which he was travelling lost control and struck a road divider in the Poonch area of Jhansi district. One of his friends also died in the crash, while three other occupants sustained injuries and were taken to a government medical facility for treatment. Police confirmed that Aban was en route to meet his brothers, who are currently lodged in a Jhansi prison.
