Anurag Kumar appointed Delhi Police Commissioner, replacing Satish Golcha

The Central government has announced IPS Officer Anurag Kumar as the new Commissioner of Delhi PolicePolicePolice, a senior intelligence officer now has been appointed at the important post of police. A 1994 batch AGMUT cadre officer and ex Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has replace Satish Golcha, who was Delhi Police Commissioner from August 2025. Anurag Kumar's appointment was approved after PM Modi and Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC)'s meeting.

The Ministry of Home Affairs made the official announcement through an order on Friday, that confirmed Anurag Kumar's appointment with immediate effect. He will take the charge as soon he assume the post.

The order stated, "With the approval of the Competent Authority, Anurag Kumar, IPS (AGMUT:1994) is hereby appointed as Commissioner of Police, Delhi with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders."
