Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman taunted AAP MP Raghav Chadha over his remark on the condition of rural banks, saying his "exposure to the western world" would help the country. The banter between the two leaders took place in Rajya Sabha during a discussion on the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill.
"I was amused... if Raghav Chadha does not take offence, he observed the number of fans in the bank, the condition of the bank, how many were whitewashed and not painted. I am really so, so satisfied. There are MPs who are otherwise very busy with many things internationally," Sitharaman said.
The Finance Minister asked Chadha to undertake such visits to rural areas. The AAP MP was seen smiling as Sitharaman responded to his speech.
