Amazon India is undergoing a significant leadership change as Manish Tiwary announces his departure from the role of the country head. Tiwary's tenure with Amazon spans eight years, beginning in 2016 when he joined as vice president. Over time, he ascended to the position of country manager in 2020.

He is said to continue with the retail giant until October.

"Manish Tiwary, Country Manager for Amazon India, has decided to pursue an opportunity outside of the company. Manish's leadership over the last eight years has been instrumental in delivering for customers and sellers, making Amazon.in the preferred marketplace in India. Manish will continue with Amazon until October to help ensure a smooth transition," an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement, regarding Tiwary's departure.

While Amazon has not yet named Tiwary's replacement, the company has indicated that Amit Agarwal, who holds the position of senior VP for India and Emerging Markets, will maintain close involvement with the Amazon India team. Agarwal is expected to provide guidance to the existing leadership team as they navigate this transition period.
