Airstrikes In Beirut, Hezbollah Hits Israel Ahead Of Gaza War Anniversary

Smoke rose over southern Beirut as Israel targeted Hezbollah strongholds, claiming to aim at commanders and military gear. The strikes are part of efforts to push Hezbollah away from the borders, allowing displaced Israelis to return home. Since Hamas’ October 7 attack, Hezbollah has fired rockets into Israel in support of the Palestinians, leading to daily clashes.

Last week, Israel initiated a ground operation in southern Lebanon after an attack that killed a key Hezbollah leader, marking the worst fighting since the 2006 war.
