Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Sunday clarified his remarks about "taking money from Ambani-Adani to stop speaking against them".

On this, Adhir Ranjan appeared to jokingly say, "If I had got it (money from Adani-Ambani), I would have been very happy. I am a BPL (Below Poverty Line) MP in need of funds to run my campaign. Forget tempo, even if Adani sent a bag full of money to my home, it would have been enough."

On May 8, PM Modi targeted the Congress and Rahul Gandhi by saying that the party had stopped speaking against Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, asking if they had received tempo loads of notes (currency) from the industrialists.
