Pakistan has, for the first time, publicly acknowledged the impact of Indian strikes on its Nur Khan airbase during Operation Sindoor in May, conceding that the facility was damaged and personnel were injured after over 80 drones were launched by the Indian side over a 36-hour period.
The admission came during a year-end press briefing on December 27, when Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said India launched a large-scale drone offensive targeting Pakistan’s military infrastructure.
"In 36 hours, at least 80 drones were sent. We were able to intercept 79 drones out of 80, and only one drone damaged a military installation and personnel were also injured," Dar said, describing the strikes as largely contained but confirming damage to the strategically important Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi’s Chaklala area.
