Mumbai Police on Friday said that the city has been put on high alert after they got a threat call. The caller claimed that 34 vehicles in Mumbai have been fitted with “human bombs” carrying about 400 kg of RDX, and that explosions would take place to “shake the entire city.” The threat was sent to the traffic police helpline on WhatsApp. According to police, the message was sent in the name of a group called “Lashkar-e-Jihadi.” It also said that 14 Pakistani terrorists have already entered India.
Police have increased security not just in Mumbai but across Maharashtra. Officials said they are taking the message seriously and are checking all possible angles while investigating the threat.
