A disturbing incident has come to light from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where consumption of contaminated drinking water has reportedly led to multiple deaths and widespread illness. According to official sources, three people have lost their lives after drinking polluted water, while more than 100 residents have fallen sick and are receiving medical treatment.

However, local residents have claimed that the actual death toll could be higher, alleging that at least five people have died due to the contamination. The situation has triggered panic among residents, especially as Indore is considered one of India’s cleanest cities.

Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Minister Mohanlal Yadav announced an ex-gratia compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased. Authorities have begun investigating the source of contamination and are working to ensure safe drinking water supply to prevent further casualties.
