Verdict In Contempt Case Against Prashant Bhushan Today

Advocate Prashant Bhushan was held guilty in a contempt of court case by the Supreme Court on Friday,The Supreme Court on Friday held advocate Prashant Bhushan guilty of contempt in a case registered against him over two of his tweets. The court will hear the arguments on the quantum of punishment on August 20.

The matter relates to some tweets made by Bhushan but specific details are not known.

The complaint against Bhushan was registered over a June 29 tweet by him on a photo of Chief Justice of India SA Bobde astride a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

While taking up the matter for hearing, the bench also took note of another tweet by Bhushan on June 27 regarding the judiciary which it said was published Wednesday in The Times of India.
