Kashmir News: A non-local taxi driver sustained bullet injuries after he was shot at by suspected terrorists in the restive Shopian district of southern Kashmir on Monday night. According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, terrorists fired upon a man identified as Paramjit Singh in Heerpora area of in Padpawan village of the south Kashmir district at around 9 PM on Monday.

Singh, who lives in Delhi but is originally a resident of Dehradun in Uttarakhand, received multiple bullet wounds in the attack, was rushed to the local district hospital, from where he was referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment, the police said, adding that his condition is stated to be stable.

Following the attack, the area where Paramjit Singh was shot by the terrorists, was cordoned off the police and other security agencies and a hunt was launched to nab the attackers, officials said, adding that the gunmen fled the scene under the cover of darkness after the shooting.
