Army troops spot suspicious movement along LoC, open fire

Alert Army troops responded to suspicious activity observed along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Sabra Gali area of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, by initiating gunfire early Saturday. An official reported, "The firing occurred in a forward village in the snow-covered Mendhar region. A comprehensive search operation is currently in progress."

SRINAGAR: On noticing suspicious movement along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sabra Gali area in J&K’s Poonch, vigilant Army troops opened fire early Saturday. “The firing took place at a forward village in snowbound Mendhar. A massive search operation is underway,” said an official.
“Troops guarding the LoC are on high alert following the recent snowfall to scuttle any attempt by terrorists to sneak in from across the border.
GoC of Jammu-based White Knight Corps, Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, visited forward locations in Poonch sector Friday and reviewed the operational preparedness,” an official said.
