PM Narendra Modi in the 79th edition of the monthly programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ paid tributes to the armed forces who made the nation proud in 1999 Kargil War and appealed the people to support the Indian Olympic Team on social media through ‘Victory Punch Campaign’.
“To support our Olympics team on social media, the ‘Victory Punch Campaign’ has already begun. You also share your victory punch along with your team and cheer for India,” PM Narendra Modi said during the monthly address.
He added, “Tomorrow is Kargil Vijay Diwas. Kargil war is such a symbol of valour and discipline of our armed forces which the entire world has witnessed. I would like you to read the thrilling story of Kargil. Let us all salute the brave hearts of Kargil.”
In his Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi shared several instances from around the country where the people are opting unique ideas to make their livelihood, even in villages and remote part of the country.
“Nowadays, apple cultivation is gaining traction in Ukhrul, Manipur. Farmers here are now cultivating apples in orchards. These people also went to Himachal to take proper training. One of them is TS Ringphami Young. He is an aeronautical engineer by profession,” the Prime Minister said. He also encouraged the cultivation of ‘Ber’, which is giving considerable profit to people living in remote parts of the country.
PM Modi added also said his monthly address has positivity and sensitivity and added that the programme has given him a medium to understand the minds of the young generation.
“A recent study by MyGov found that about 75% of those who send their message and suggestions to Mann Ki Baat are below 35 years. It means Mann Ki Baat is being guided by the views of the youth of India. Mann Ki Baat is a medium where there is positivity and sensitivity,” he said.
The Mann ki Baat comes ahead of the Independence Day on August 15th. On this occasion, he appealed the people to proceed with view of ‘Nation First and Always First’.
