J&K: Encounter Underway Between Security Forces And Terrorists In Baramulla's Sopore

A civilian was injured in the gun battle and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

An encounter is underway between security forces including police and terrorists in Check Mohalla Nowpora in the Sopore area of Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, a civilian was injured near the site of encounter during the exchange of fire, as per a PTI report. 

"An encounter has started at Check Mohalla Nowpora in the area of PD (police district) Sopore. Police & security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," the Jammu and Kashmir Police (Kashmir Zone) in a social media post on X. 

The injured civilian, identified as Farooq Ahmad was rushed to a hospital.
