Aditya Narayan has reacted to accusations of Indian Idol 12 being doctored. The singer said that as long as he is the host of the singing reality show, no one needs to praise the contestant unnecessarily.

Aditya Narayan has again come to Indian Idol 12's rescue. After Amit Kumar revealed that he was asked to praise all the contestants irrespective of their performance, Aditya Narayan came out in support of the show. Now, other singers and music composers associated with Indian Idol have opened up about how the singing reality show is doctored. The singer is the host of the show.

ADITYA NARAYAN REACTS TO INDIAN IDOL 12 CONTROVERSY

Recently, Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant also revealed that even they were asked not to say anything negative to contestants when they were judging Indian Idol. Reacting to the accusations, Aditya Narayan spoke to an entertainment portal and said, “Everyone who is giving quotes on being persuaded to be positive about Indian Idol contestants are colleagues and friends. Let me assure them, as long as I am hosting Indian Idol, no one here needs to praise anyone for the heck of it. Be yourself, say what you want and just come visit our show and bless us. I speak only for myself. I can’t speak on behalf of other seasons as the team/production was entirely different."

ADITYA SAYS INDIAN IDOL 12 IS THE MOST-WATCHED REALITY SHOW OF THE DECADE

Despite all the criticism, Indian Idol 12 is one of the most-watched reality shows. Aditya Narayan even claimed that it is the most successful reality show of the decade and he wants to focus on positivity. “Our producers Sony, Fremantle & TCT along with the entire team are thrilled with the love and success of the current season. This is the most-watched reality show in the entire past decade. We want to focus on that. We would rather not think about the negativity," he added.

WHEN SALIM MERCHANT WAS ASKED TO REFRAIN FROM NEGATIVE COMMENTS

Recently, music composer, Salim Merchant has also said he was asked to refrain from giving negative comments to contestants on reality shows. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, he said, "Yes, mere saath bhi hua hai. But honestly, maine kabhi nahi suna unki baat. Shayad aaj main koi judge ki seat pe nahi baitha hoon because of that."

He further added, "Mere saath bahut baar hua hai when the show directors said that 'please, aap log negative mat boliye'. But, main na thoda smart hoon is baare mein. Main khaamiyaan nikaal hi leta hoon but achhi tarah se. I don't get crazy about anybody's faults."

WHEN AMIT KUMAR SAID HE WAS ASKED TO PRAISE EVERYONE ON INDIAN IDOL 12

Earlier, Amit Kumar had revealed that he didn't enjoy being on Indian Idol 12. He was invited to the Indian Idol 12 Kishore Kumar special episode. He also revealed that the singing reality show's team had asked him to praise all the contestants. He said, "I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise karna hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai because it's a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened."

Indian Idol 12 is aired on Sony TV on Saturday and Sunday at 9.30 pm.
