In the viral video, the accused could be heard introducing himself as Naresh Kumar Suryavanshi, a member of the right-wing organisation, Bajrang Dal. He could be heard telling the workers of the shop that Sant Nagar is a Hindu area. He then threatens them and forbids them to open the shop on any Hindu festival. He even threatens to set the establishment on fire.

The workers then close the biryani shop. The video was recorded around 9 pm on Thursday and later circulated on social media.

Suryavanshi alleges in the video that Muslims came to that area to conduct “love jihad by entrapping Hindu women and girls”. He also tells the people around him that the biryani shopowner was besmirching Hindus’ faith by feeding them 'halaal' meat. Suryavanshi could be heard abusing the shop workers throughout the video.

The case was registered under Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the Indian Penal Code at Burari police station, a senior police officer said.

An investigation is underway to ascertain the identity of the accused and nab him, the officer said.
