Video: 4-Year-Old Girl Raped In Delhi, Massive Protest Outside Accused’s Home

A four-year-old was raped allegedly raped by a 34-year-old man at her tuition centre in Delhi. Hundreds of people gathered outside the home of the accused and staged a protest.

New Delhi: Hundreds of local residents in Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area staged a protest to express their anger over the alleged rape of a 4-year-old girl, demanding stringent action against the accused. Furious mob also vandalised cars and public property outside the accused house to show their anger. In the video shared by news agency ANI, locals can be seen gathering in the market area and demanding strict action against the accused. Police can also be seen trying to disperse the enraged crowd.

According to police, Mandawali Police Station received a complaint on Saturday that a 4-year-old girl was raped by a 34-year-old man at the place where she goes for tuition.
Delhi Eastern Range’s Additional CP Sagar Singh Kalsi, who was at the scene, said that rumours were spread that no actions were being taken against the accused hence people gathered and stated protesting.

Yesterday, Mandawali Police Station received a complaint that a 4-year-old girl was raped by a 34-year-old man at the place where she goes for tuition. We have registered a case and the man was arrested. In this area, a rumour was spread that no actions were being taken so people gathered, we also got to know about some incidents of vandalism,” ANI quoted Kalsi as saying.
Kalsi added that the situation in the area is peaceful.

Delhi Minister Atishi demanded stringent action against the accused.

Police have lodged a case under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO and investigation is underway.

Last month, another minor girl was allegedly raped by a boy in Southwest Delhi and was found unconscious near a Metro station in West Delhi. The victim met through social media. Police arrested the accused, who is also a minor, and his friend.

According to DCP (Southwest) Rohit Meena, the incident took place when the victim had gone to a coaching centre to attend classes. After the classes she went to meet the accused boy. The girl had been talking to the accused since October last year.

“He took her to a friend’s house, where he raped her… no one else was present in the house at the time and the accused had its keys,” the DCP said.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the spot and the victim took an autorickshaw and reached the Dabri Metro Station, but started bleeding and fell unconscious.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
