Mumbai: Days after Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s deep fake video took the internet by storm, the actor has finally taken legal action against the viral clip on social media. Ranveer Singh Registers FIR Against AI- Deepfake Video

While the deepfake AI video of Ranveer Singh went viral on the internet, the actor failed to take the necessary steps to stop the video from going viral on multiple social media applications. Recently, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson confirmed that the actor has now taken the necessary steps to track down the source of the video. The representative of Ranveer Singh said, “Yes, we have filed the police complaint and an FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Mr. Ranveer Singh (sic).” In the deepfake viral video, Ranveer’s original video was morphed where he was purportedly seen promoting a certain political party. The original video was about the actor sharing his spiritual experience visiting the holy city of Varanasi. Ranveer attended the show of fashion designer Manish Malhotra alongside Kriti Sanon.
In the deepfake AI video, it was witnessed that Ranveer’s voice was tampered with, and ‘an AI-synthesised voice clone’ was replaced with the original audio.

Ranveer Singh Reacting To His Deepfake Video

Days later when Ranveer Singh became the victim of a deepfake video, the actor shared a short message on his Instagram Story that read, “Deepfake se bacho doston (Friends, beware of deepfakes) (sic).” It was evident that Ranveer had responded to the viral video of him purportedly expressing his political views with a news agency.

How it All Started?

Bollywood star Ranveer Singh recently stole the spotlight at a unique fashion show held on the banks of the Ganges River in Varanasi. The open-air event was organised by renowned designer Manish Malhotra. While in the holy city, Ranveer couldn’t help but comment on the city’s improvements, particularly its upgraded infrastructure. He also described his visit to Varanasi as a deeply spiritual experience.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh is returning to his role as the energetic cop Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s action-packed Singham Again, alongside a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff.

In 2025, Ranveer takes on the iconic role of Don in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. We most recently saw him in Karan Johar’s romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, where he shared the screen with Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.
