As per Islamic Republic News Agency, Raisi invoked India’s historical struggles against Western colonialism and its role as a founding member of the non-aligned movement (NAM) in the world.

“India is expected to use all its capacities to end Zionist crime against the oppressed people of Gaza,” the report quoted the Iranian President telling PM Modi during the call.

Raisi also expressed Iran’s “support to any joint global effort for an immediate ceasefire, lifting the blockade and providing relief to the oppressed people of Gaza.”

The Iranian President further said, “the atrocities in Gaza made people around the globe angry and if the massacre continues, it will have transregional consequences.”

Raisi also described the US as a “key partner of the committed crimes in Gaza due to its comprehensive financial, weapons, and intelligence support for the Zionist regime, as well as its veto of Security Council resolutions to end the bombing of Gaza.”
