Ukraine officials on Sunday alleged that another democratically elected Ukrainian mayor, head of Dniprorudne Yevhen Matveyev, was abducted by "Russian war criminals" on Sunday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Twitter, "Today, Russian war criminals abducted another democratically elected Ukrainian mayor, head of Dniprorudne Yevhen Matveyev. Getting zero local support, invaders turn to terror. I call on all states and international organisations to stop Russian terror against Ukraine and democracy."

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Ukrainian officials alleged that the mayor of Melitopol city, Ivan Fedorov, was kidnapped after he refused to cooperate with the Russian military. Ukraine's foreign ministry accused Russia of violating international law by abducting the mayor.
