Sambhal: Police Begin Prep To Set Up Outpost Opposite Shahi Jama Masjid To Enhance Security, Vi

Opposition leaders hit out at the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday (December 28, 2024) over the construction of a new police outpost outside the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal. The Opposition argued that there was questionable intent behind the construction of the outpost.

“A police post is being built in front of Jama Masjid in Sambhal. The government opens neither schools nor hospitals in most parts of India. If something is built, it is a police post or a liquor bar. The government does not have money for anything else. The data itself reveals that the least number of government facilities are provided in Muslim areas,” All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi wrote on social media platform X.

The Congress party said such actions are part of a broader agenda of criminalising the Muslim community and areas inhabited by them.
