India pacer Mohammed Shami suffered a wrist injury while batting on Day 3 of Adelaide Test and found himself "unable to even lift his arm". Shami's injury has thrown his participation in the 2nd Test in doubt.

A Pat Cummins bounder hit Mohammed Shami on his bowling arm with the bowler getting out retired hurt to end India’s innings at 36-9. Shami had called on the medical team for a check-up after suffering the blow.

India captain Virat Kohli was asked about Shami’s injury and he said that the pacer was in a lot of pain and has been taken to a hospital for scans.
