Kota

Kota is India’s premier entrance coaching hub. Aspiring engineers who stay and study in this city are anxious ahead of the declaration of the IIT JEE Advanced test results.

“Although I have done my assessment through answer keys, I can’t help but feel anxious ahead of the declaration of results on Sunday,” said Rohit Parashar (17), an aspirant from Bihar. “I have been preparing for IIT-JEE here for the last two years. I hope to get a good rank.” Parashar said he will decide on his branch and institute after getting the results.

Another aspirant, Hemant Agarwal (17) from Madhya Pradesh, also said he was confident of bagging a good rank. “Not just me, my family is also eagerly waiting for the JEE Advanced results,” he said. Agarwal said the online mode of taking examinations has given rise to more transparency. His institute of choice is IIT-Mumbai.

Around 40,000 students from Kota qualified for the JEE Advanced this year.

Patna

“I had matched my answers with the answer key and I am expecting 200 marks. I have studied a lot for the examination and the results will decide if I get my dream college, IIT Delhi. My relatives have started calling from now itself to know how I am feeling” said Ritik Raj.

Prem Kumar another aspirant said, “The paper was not tough for me and I am expecting above 190. I am curious to know my All India Rank. Hoping for the best.”

Bhopal

A student of Carmel Convent, Bhopal Krati Arela said, “I am excited as well tensed for my IIT JEE advanced result because I never thought of anything other than engineering. I am trying to release my stress by reading books of my favourite authors.”

A student government school Alirajpur Milesh Har Singh said, “I scored good marks in the result of IIT JEE Mains. Now, everybody is expecting good marks in IIT JEE Advanced, so I am feeling stressed. Teachers and family members are boosting my confidence.”

A student from Government Excellence School, Indore, Karishma Singh said, “I am nervous for the result and my family is convincing me that the result of IIT JEE Advanced is not the end of my journey. I am optimistic about my result.”

Lucknow

Students at GD Goenka Public School are confident of cracking the exam but not sure about their rank and colleges they will get through.

Yashi Agarwal, who scored 92.4% in CBSE Class 12 board examination this year, wants to pursue a B Tech in computer science.

“I always knew what I had to do. I had my feet firmly grounded. I have always dreamt of being an IITian. I’ve worked really hard for the last two years to fulfil my dream. I have to just clear my JEE Advanced to be where I want to be,” the 17-year-old said.

Sharayansh Agarwal and Parth Gupta, both 18-years-old, also dream to graduate from one of the premier Indian Institutes of Technology.

“Once I graduate from IIT I hope to make software that would help the technology of the country to advance and could bring in a new era of browsing. My career path goes through IIT leading me to be a successful software engineer,” Sharayansh of GD Goenka Public School said.

Parth said he is keeping his finger crossed.

Sarthak Srivastava, an alumnus of City Montessori School’s Gomti Nagar branch, said he does not expect to get a core branch in IITs.

“My expected score ranges somewhere between 120 to 125 and as claimed by most of the coaching institutes the cut off for this year will fluctuate between 85 to 95. Therefore, I am likely to qualify but cannot expect any extraordinary result,” Sarthak said.

These days, Srivastava is playing the violin and reading books to keep himself calm.

“What matters the most in scoring well in advance is your capability to deal with stress,” he said.

“In case, if I don’t get into IITs I will have state government engineering colleges as backup options. All I want after my B Tech is to have my own startup,” he added.

Over 160,000 students across the country appeared for the first-ever completely computer-based Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced (JEE-Advance) held on May 20.
