On the fateful day of August 24, British journalist Piers Morgan shared a tweet which eventually snowballed into what can be called a contention, between Virender Sehwag and Morgan.

This tweet made things serious as these stalwarts engaged in a war of words drawing back to each of the country's performances at the Olympic Games, the cricket World Cup and stray bets to add fuel to the fire. But of course, when you're up against the Twitter Jedi Virender Sehwag, not even Piers Morgan serves as a fair match.

To that, Piers Morgan went on to make a lofty bet of 1 million rupees to charity if India won a medal in the Olympic Games before England won World Cup. Apparently, he should have done his research better, because Sehwag was quick in pointing out that India already holds 9 Olympic gold, and to that effect, offered to take the Kohinoor diamond off the British hands to honour the bet!

On Friday, Virender Sehwag shared a tweet which shed some light on why he turned down the interview on Newshour by Arnab Goswami, where he was supposed to speak on the entire Morgan fiasco.

His fans and critics showered his laudable gesture with praises. But they were just as hilarious as it would be fitting for the wit of Sehwag, which he is often known for.
