JOIN USChief Minister Siddaramaiah has convened a meeting of Dalit leaders in Bengaluru on Sunday to discuss implementation of Sadashiva Commission report on internal reservation among Scheduled Castes.
"I have convened the meeting of different leaders of the Scheduled Castes. We will discuss the issue in detail," Siddaramaiah told reporters here on Saturday. The Justice A J Sadashiva Commission, which looked into methods of equitable distribution of reservation facilities among the Scheduled Castes, has recommended internal reservation among the castes by broadly reclassifying all the 101 castes into four groups.
Though a section of Dalits has demanded early implementation of the report, some have opposed it. As the issue is bone of contention among the different sub-section of Dalits, the chief minister has been trying to settle the dispute by holding discussion among them.
