JOIN USA 28-year-old woman strangled her one-and-a-half-year-old son before hanging herself at her house in Hemavathi Layout in Subramanyapura, South Bengaluru, on Friday.
The deceased are B A Pradha and her son Agasthya.
According to the police, Pradha married Anil Kumar, a software engineer two-and-a-half-years ago. The incident came to light when her relatives visited the house and found both of them lying dead.
The Subramanyapura police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for post-mortem. The reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, but the police suspect Pradha took the extreme step due to depression. There was no suicide note.
Pradha's mother, who had come to the police station to file a complaint, collapsed due to chest pain and was hospitalised. She, too, told the police that her daughter was weak-hearted and had attempted suicide twice earlier. She had no complaints against her son-in-law. Police are questioning Kumar and members of his family and are awaiting the post-mortem reports for further investigations.
