August 15 (Independence Day) has always considered to be one of the crucial dates for Bollywood as many big films block this time for their release. Well this time, it seems the date has just turned out to be bigger as not one or two but three films - Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, Gold and Satyameva Jayate will clash with each other on August 15 during the Independence day weekend. Among all the three films, Akshay's Gold was the film which locked the Independence Day date. In fact, Akshay has always released his films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Brothers and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara during the Independence day weekend.

Talking about Akshay Kumar's Gold, the film is inspired by true events and narrates the tale of India’s first Olympic medal win as a free nation in the year 1948 at Games of the XIV Olympiad, London. The story won’t just narrate what happened that night but will also take us closer to live of the players in the team. It also features Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. The movie is being directed by Reema Kagti, who previously helmed movies like Talaash and Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. On the other hand, Satyameva Jayate which stars John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee is an edgy thriller which is produced under the banner of Emmay Entertainment. Last but not the least, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, which stars Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol is the third installment of Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise. Apparently Salman and Sonakshi have also shot an item number for this film.
