Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai - 5 Highest opening weekends of Salman Khan so far

Race 3 is releasing in 3D... that might just do the trick for this film as well.

Race 3 is the Eid release of this year. Salman Khan returns to the theatres on his favourite festival like always and fans are extremely excited about it. Now, when it comes to Eid and Salman, it means blockbusters. Last Eid may not have set cash registers ringing with Tubelight but this time Trade is hopeful that it will be massive. Our trade analyst has already given us their predictions for Race 3. But before we start counting humongous numbers for this film, let's rewind a bit to know which films became Salman biggest opening weekends. Be prepared for some surprises. Now, if you have been tracking Salman's box office outings closely, you might have noticed that Sultan takes the top spot in the tally with a Rs 180.36 crore haul in the first few days. It obviously had the edge over others because it had a five day weekend to enjoy, which helped it post some really insane numbers on the scoreboard. Salman's wrestler turn got immense love from people and lodged it in the Rs 300 crore category as well. In fact, it was his second film to enter that club after Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Today he leads it with three of his films having hit the mark. That's the might of Salman Khan. Interestingly, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo takes the second spot with Rs 129.77 crore. It was a Diwali release and had 4 days to work on before the weekend ended. But it's really amusing to see Ek Tha Tiger in the third spot with Rs 116.05 crore. This film released way back in 2012 and since then, the box office has changed tremendously. Yet it finds a place in his biggest openers although the five day weekend gave it a good push. It was, however, an Independence Day release.
