Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is poised to return and lead role Delhi Capitals (DC) in the upcoming 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The Delhi-based franchise anticipates that the 26-year-old will be in peak physical condition before the commencement of the 17th season of the lucrative domestic T20 league, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

During the recent training camp of the Delhi Capitals in Kolkata leading up to the next edition of the tournament, Pant underwent rigorous sessions under the careful supervision of the coaching staff, which includes Ricky Ponting, Sourav Ganguly and Pravin Amre.

In preparation for the IPL 2024 auction scheduled for December 19 in Dubai, Pant participated in the camp discussions regarding the retention and release of players, according to a report on ESPNcricinfo.

Pant, who made his IPL debut in 2016, boasts a record of 98 matches for various franchises, amassing 2838 runs with an impressive strike rate of 147.97.
Having been sidelined from competitive cricket for several months due to severe injuries sustained in a car accident, Pant has shown remarkable tenacity and determination in his recovery. His progress toward regaining full fitness is closely followed by his supporters, and he remains active on social media platforms to keep them updated.

The Indian wicketkeeper-batter faced a harrowing car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, resulting in critical injuries. After initial treatment in Dehradun, he was airlifted to Mumbai for more specialized care.
Unfortunately, Pant missed the last edition of the IPL, along with the World Test Championship final and the ODI World Cup in 2023. Nonetheless, there is optimism that he will achieve full fitness soon and may even be part of India's squad for the ICC T20 World Cup next year.
