CHENNAI: Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat on Monday said terror camp in Pakistan’s Balakot has been reactivated and that there are at least 500 people waiting to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan.
The Indian Air Force did surgical strikes in February to destroy terror camps in Balakot.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Young Leaders Training Wing at Officers Training Academy here, Rawat said that more troops had been deployed and that there was no hesitation to go beyond strikes in Balakot but would like to keep them (Pakistan) guessing.

He also said infiltration depended on the weather. "Now, ice has melted so people try to come in from the north. "
"We have pushed in more troops along the western border to prevent infiltration," he said and added that western border was unsettled.
He said that there was no clampdown in Jammu and Kashmir and it was a facade created by the terrorists. "Shops are open from behind and people are buying things. The front is closed because the terrorists are forcing them," he said.

He also said, "Brick kilns near Srinagar are functioning, more than 100 truckloads of apples are coming out. Phone lines are working. "
However, he did not comment on how long the restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir would continue.
