Six NSCN-IM insurgents killed in Arunachal Pradesh

Six insurgents belonging to the Isak-Muivah faction of the extremist National Socialist Council of Nagaland aka NSCN (IM) were killed in an early morning operation on Saturday near Nginu village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh. The operation against the extremist group active in north-eastern states was carried out by a joint team of 6 Assam Rifle and state police.

NEW DELHI: Six insurgents belonging to an extremist group active in north-eastern states were killed in an early morning operation on Saturday.
Acting upon an actionable and specific information by local intelligence unit of Arunachal Pradesh, a joint team of 6 Assam Rifle and Arunachal Pradesh Police carried out the high voltage operation near Nginu village
in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, sources said.
Itnhas emerged that the slain insurgents were members of the Isak-Muivah faction of the extremist National Socialist Council of Nagaland aka NSCN (IM).

One Assam Rifle personnel was injured in the confrontation.
"Six long range weapon(4 AK 47 2 Chinese MQ) have been recovered so far," said an official.
Senior police officials and the commanding officer of the Assam Rifle unit are at the spot.
When contacted, DGP Arunachal Pradesh, R P Upadhyay said, "The operation is continuing. Details will be shared at an appropriate time."
